April 4th Just Fix It

Was a great success despite it being a holiday - the only downside was that the cafe was closed, not sure why - so a lot of fixers and hosts were suffering from caffeine depletion by the end! Keep an eye on these blogs, on TT social media and talk to library to find out next dates. We are aiming for roughly every two months.....

On average we manage to mend half of the items you bring in, and of those, most are electrical. Given that a great many electrical items are designed to become out of date, this is a constant challenge to both fixers and item owners. Many component parts are glued, not screwed together, which also means fixers can't get inside the item to see what the problem is.

However, we must persevere. Ideas travel and there is a growing movement to reject our throwaway culture - and value those items, both useful or beautiful - that we own.

So How Can I Get Involved?

Together We Change The World For The Better. Transition Tynedale is entirely reliant on the energy and commitment of our volunteers to make its projects happen.
